Narendra Modi’s Speech on 72nd Independence Day of India

On the occasion of 72nd Independence Day of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of the nation for the fifth and final time before the elections of Lok Sabha which will be held next year, 2019. This year, in the address to the nation, our PM majorly spoke about the successful schemes started & implemented by the government. Among the many schemes, the most important schemes were Swachch Bharat, PMFBY, Mudra loans, GST.

He also took an opportunity to announce his flagship health policy, Ayushman Bharat- National Health Protection Scheme. He informed the crowd that the ambitious ‘Ayushman Bharat’ policy aims to target poor, deprived rural families and urban workers’ families and it covers over 10 crore vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) and provide health cover up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year. On 25th September (Birth Anniversary of Pandit Din Dayal), 2018, this ambitious project to safeguard the health of common Indian will be launched.

100th Anniversary of Jallianwala Bagh

He paid tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh while stating that next year, on Vaisakhi, India will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.

Focused on ‘Tough Decisions’

By saying “Kade Faisle lene ka samarthya rakhte hain”, Modi backed his tough decisions like “One Rank, One Pension” for armed forces, Surgical Strike in Pakistan, GST, Banking reforms and others. Saying this, he cleared that his government has taken several tough steps for benefits of the people of country.

Space Mission

He promised to unfurl the tri-colour flag in space by 2022 on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day. Modi congratulated our scientists & Indian space programme for the progress made by them and highlighted their achievement of launching 118 satellites in a go!

Toilets, Electrification, LPG

Modi reiterated that his government aims for “Housing for all, power for all, water for all, LPG for all, toilet for all, skill for all, health for all, insurance for all and connectivity for all”. With this, he also indirectly criticized UPA government and said it would have taken decades to achieve all this, if the NDA government had worked at the pace of the UPA government.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna, Ayushman Bharat

He announced to launch “Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna ” on 25th September, which will ensure access of good quality and affordable health care to reach the 50 crores population of India.

Farming Sector

Prime Minister, Modi said that he aims at doubling farmers’ income by 2022 with “Beej se Bazaar Tak” approach. He said that the demand of Higher MSP which was pending from years was fulfilled by his government with the blessings of farmers.

On Women Empowerment

He targeted the opposition by saying “The Triple Talaq has favored injustice to Muslim Women. We are trying to end this, but some people don’t want it to end”.

He also promised that Women commissioned officers in short service will soon be able to get permanent commission like their male counterparts.

PM, Modi mentioned about the Indian Navy all-women crew that circumnavigated the globe. He expressed his extreme pride on this occasion and congratulated the crew.

Crimes on Women

Citing the case of Madhya Pradesh, where a rapist was hanged by fast track courts; Modi strongly gave message to free society from the creepy mentality of rape.”Rule of Law is Supreme, no one could take law in their hands” he added.

On Kashmir

He supported words of Atalji that says “Insaniyat, Kashmiriyat, Jhamooriyat”. He concluded this by saying “I too believe that problem of Jammu & Kashmir can be solved by encircling peace”.
Government Schemes

He said about “Mudra Loan” in which 13 crore people took loan for the first time. He further described schemes like Ujjwala and Saubhagya Yojna are enhancing the dignity of Indians.
“Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” has made lakhs of children live healthier life. He highlighted that WHO (World Health Organization) has also praised the scheme. Swacchagrahis will lead to Swachh Bharat as Satyagrahis lead to the freedom of India”.

Our Take

In his 80 mins speech from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the opportunity to talk about the schemes implemented by his government till now to uplift each & every citizen of India. He also announced the promising health scheme which would be soon implemented. Prime Minister Modi strongly expressed his clear intention to serve India & its people in next tenure too! Well, It would be interesting to see how the people of India react to his promises. However, we wish India a very happy Independence Day.
