Android Pie (Android 9.0) Released: Here’s the List of Expected Features!

After months of Beta Testing, on 6th August Android Pie released, also known as Android 9.0 with advanced features like Artificial Intelligence, Simplicity, and Digital Well-Being. In the beginning, the updated Operating System- Android Pie will be available on Google Pixel phone along with the phones which participated in the beta testing in the next few months.

Android Pie has come up to ease user experience and adapt to user life with its super cool features. Here’s the list of features, you can expect from the newly launched Operating System- Android 9.0 Pie.

1. Artificial Intelligence to perform better

Android Pie has come up with interesting Intelligence features. It can read the pattern of your APP Usage – which app you use regularly and which all you use rarely, when do you need apps and more. According to your usage pattern, it will control and manage battery usage and prioritize battery energy on the apps that you use frequently. Also, it will take a cue from your daily App usage pattern and predict the task you need to do next using your mobile, thus recommend you the suggested App use. Besides, it will control the brightness on your phone based on brightness around you and save energy efficiently, it would limit your practice of adjusting brightness manually.

Slices, an interesting feature, that would be launched by fall next year. Android 9.0 Pie would enable Apps to be more useful than ever! Direct App actions would facilitate users based on its intelligent prediction. The Latest Android 9.0 Pie would enable and suggest a quick app action based on your usage pattern, i.e., to book a cab at 7 pm for commuting to home from office as per your daily schedule.

2. Simplicity

Experience the whole new way of simplicity with the release of Android Pie. The traditional navigation system has been revamped and simplified with the help of gestures and swipes, instead of buttons. The navigation buttons of Android will be replaced with a small pill-shaped icon in the screen at the bottom. Now, you can perform various tasks just by swiping.

All you need to do is swipe a few pill-shaped buttons to navigate through- To visit recently used apps you need to swipe up from the bottom, to visit the last used app swipe the pill-shaped button to the right and a full swipe to open up the drawer of Apps! To go home, tap the pill-shaped button, and press it for longer to open Google Assistant.

3. Digital Well-Being

Digital Well-being has come up as an added advantage for the users. Google developed Android plans to release the Beta version of Digital Well-Being only on Google Pixel at the beginning. Digital Well-being ensures you to allocate time to the apps and set a limit to your usage to meet your convenience.

Android Dashboard shows you the number of times each App used along with the time spent on them, the number of time mobile unlocked and other relevant details. Overall, it aims to provide complete information on your usage pattern, so that you can set your time in a better way.

It gives you control to decide the time you want to spend on Apps and set limits, it nudges you when you reach the time limit. Most importantly, it helps you to reset your bedtime in the best way. All you need to do is tell Google Assistant your bedtime and it automatically switches to ‘DO NOT DISTURB’ mode as per your bedtime schedule. Isn’t it exciting?!

Important Information about the Android Pie Release!
Google Pixel phone has updated the newly released Operating System- Android Pie. The new operating system will be released for other mobiles soon (those who participated in the Beta testing by Q3, 2018). It is yet not confirmed if all Androids would be updated to this new version as it partly depends on the network provider and mobile manufacturer. Once the mobile and network are compatible with the new release, you can expect to experience the upgraded and smart features of Android 9.0 Pie.
